Still Alive!

How many posts can I write with titles like these? Waay too many! Has it really been almost a month since my last post? Nuts! Funny because I always "write" posts in my mind whenever I have a great day or we do something really fun or when Brady is driving me crazy, yet somehow those posts never make it to the blog.

I do believe Spring/Summer is officially here in Mobile. Today's high is 77. I'm actually sitting on our patio in a tank top as I type this. I've already taken Brady to the park to play on the playground and had a picnic in our backyard on one of his baby quilts with him and Frank. That was bliss for me :) I've been waiting for a long time to have a baby old enough to do those sorts of fun things with. Oh yeah, I also just killed our first Yellow Jacket monster bumble bee thingie of the season.....yuck!

A lot has been going on over the last month. All our floors are finished! They've been done for a while actually. There are a few small projects that still need to be completed - finish sewing drapes/curtains, paint entryway/hallway/laundry, stain & install shoe moulding around fireplace, find new wall decor. But honestly it is such a relief to have our house back in one piece that I haven't been in any rush to finish those items. If you know me well, then you also know I'm a very lazy decorator. I don't like to rush into throwing stuff on the walls, just to say it's done. I like to take my sweet time and find things that I really like. Partly because I don't want to spend $$ on something that I'm not completely satisfied with and partly because I don't want to spend the time/energy.

Here are a couple pictures though for my mom because I know she's excited to see what we have accomplished so far. I have sewn 2 drapery panels for the family room - I was going to do 4, but when I hung them up it was just too much, so I think 2 will do just fine.

We also took Brady down to the Gulf Coast Exploreum 2 weekends ago. They have a new dinosaur exhibit as well as a permanent play area for toddlers that he loved. I'm thinking of purchasing a family membership so we can take him whenever we want. We'd only have to visti 4x/year to make up for the cost, so I think it would be worth it.

Also, I signed Brady up for a tumbling class that starts at the end of the month. I am so excited for this - mostly because it's an hour long class and I know it will wear him out and he will sleep great! You're actually not allowed to start the class till you're 18months, so Brady will be a few weeks shy of that - BUT I figured he's already wearing size 3T clothes, so I don't think they'll be able to tell he's too young:)

It's amazing to me how much he has developed over the past few months. Just a few weeks ago I was getting worried because he still wasn't talking. But now he is saying "bye", "ball", and "no". He is also running, climbing, "jumping" - his feet never leave the ground though, and he understands SO much when I tell him stuff. He also has a pretty big temper. He gets FURIOUS when we make him come inside or leave the playground.

I'm looking forward to this weekend since Rob will be off Fri, Sat & Sunday. We don't have any plans YET - but I think I'm going to "suggest" that Rob build Brady a swing set :) We've been talking about doing it for a while and since it's finally warming up and Brady loves being in the backyard so much, I think now would be the perfect time.  Rob loves building stuff though, so I don't think he will mind too much. Then while daddy is building Brady and I can plant some new flowers in our boxes/pots and maybe have a grill out when we're done:)

I can't believe how different your house looks. It's beautiful! Love the floors and the curtains and the palm tree in the dining room. Did you get that idea from me ?????
